All this planning to my next destination, America (hopefully) has honestly got me thinking about how my past (almost) 2 years in college have been.
I guess it seem like it was yesterday when I was just at the Taylor's main campus, talking to a very unhelpful "counselor" and signing up for one of the best decision I've made in life- ADP. Having brought up academically in government, or the Americans would term it, public schools all my life, Taylor's University was the first private institution I was about to set foot in. I must say, I was excited with maybe a tinge of slight worry on how the "college" life would be like.
It's been (almost)2 years and truth is, ADP has seriously been one heck of a program. Compared to the conventional choice of most Malaysian highschoolers such as A Levels & SAM, you are missing out what college is really all about. I honestly feel that ADP has helped shape me into who I am today, not that I changed much, but in the sense I'm a mad drinker now(HAHA). But honestly, as I watch my sisters do A Levels, everything they do just seem so... damn secondary SPM high school. It's the same ol story. Doing ADP has made me do things I never thought I would be doing if this was 2 years back.
1) Act in plays
2)Give speeches
3)Drinking and puking my ass out when Sociology test was the next day
4)Wear a tudung and do a presentation (epic shit)
5)Run for student council
6)~Laughter~ on the 12th floor
7)Play dodgeball
.......
and these are only the few currently at the top of my head.
ADP-All Day Play, Alcohol Drinking Program indeed!! That is the reputation this program should forever live up to. I've met some of the greatest people in college, most definitely. Things have been eye opening, fun, crazy, yet academically fulfilling at the same time. I never thought education would have been this fun.
It sucks that this program is so unrecognized in Malaysia. God, people need to stop being ~safe~ and boring. Ahh, their loss.
This is only a step to the real American experience, let's hope.
ADP, you have been awesome.
